There is the artist's movement when she travels, the moving of things seen by the
transposition of sketches into mural paintings and inclusion in a place that generates the
definitive form in a relationship with the architecture and/or its history that redefines, reanchors,
re-territorializes these ephemeral notations in a placing that is just as definitive as it is
transitory.
Just as definitive as it is transitory because this work does not bear correction. Once the line
has been placed, the painting is there in its instantaneousness, in the brilliance of its execution
: a spill, a slight overflowing, a quick streak, a puddle... as for transitory, it is implicit. Since the
work cannot be transported, each exhibition makes the work ephemeral, (...) Mari Minato's
inscriptions play with relations of scale – from the tiny to the massive – on the anamorphoses
and the architectural specificities – presence of pipes, safety equipement, recesses in the walls,
angles between two partitions...
